The short version
Health Record Ally stores your personal health information locally on your device. No account is required for the core record. We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell your data.
Information stored on your device
Health Record Ally may store information you enter, import and confirm, including medicines, symptoms, measurements, appointments, clinical documents, transcripts, generated summaries, saved letters, guidance assessments, sharing preferences and app settings.
This information remains under the protection of your device and its operating system. Deleting the app may remove locally stored information, subject to the way iOS manages app data and backups.
Apple Health data
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Health Record Ally requests access only to categories required for the features you select. These may include weight, body composition, heart rate, HRV, blood glucose, blood pressure, sleep, activity and reproductive-health information.
- You choose which categories to allow.
- You can change or withdraw access in iOS Settings or the Apple Health app.
- Health data is used to add context to your personal record and trends.
- Health data is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
Optional connected features
On-device intelligence
On-device document explanation and writing assistance are in development for supported devices. When enabled, the app will identify when processing occurred on the device. If on-device intelligence is unavailable, Health Record Ally will not silently send the task to a cloud AI provider.
External providers
No future external AI or cloud provider should receive health information without a separate, explicit choice and an explanation of what will be sent. Provider availability does not imply that such a connection is enabled.
Caregiver sharing
Health Record Ally shares nothing with a caregiver unless you create a link. You choose the categories they can view and the expiry period. Links are read-only and can be revoked.
Appointment recordings
Only record a consultation after everyone taking part has consented. You should review and correct transcripts and summaries before relying on or sharing them.
Your choices and control
- Use Health Record Ally without creating an account for the core record.
- Decline Apple Health access and enter information manually.
- Leave optional intelligence and connected features disabled.
- Review caregiver permissions before sharing and revoke links later.
- Delete individual records or remove app data from your device.
Medical and policy information
Health Record Ally is a record-understanding and advocacy tool. It does not provide a diagnosis, medical advice or a determination of treatment eligibility. Published guidance and generated materials should be reviewed in the context of your care.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated when Health Record Ally changes. The current version and its effective date will remain available on this page.
